great night and the cars all at different stages of restoration two or three cars i had never heard of, one of only two ferrari's in the world worth a mil, db5 aston worth half a mil that needed left front half of the guard replaced and costing 25 grand. this is a place where a paint job will cost 20 to 30 thousand and if you like healey's well this would be heaven, i only hope someone posts some pics of some many great machines. oh and no celica's but a very nice 67 mini cooper SLIM would have liked in the show room.

Timbosaurus, were you the guy trying to convince the paint guy that Toyota introduced planned obsolescence into TA22's with carefully planned condensation holes in panels?

I was the red head guy with drool coming out of my mouth.

I think the Aston Martin quote for the repair panel was like 20,000GBP!!

Yeah I felt a bit like that. The paint guy asked what we were building at home. I wasn't game to say old corolla's lest I was frogged marched out of the building

I actually used to be a member of AHSDC years ago when I was a 16 year old with my step dad.

They were a great bunch of people, and a very sociable group then. They looked to be largely the same people now, just 25 years older, and still very friendly.

Internet seems to have stopped a lot of that.

    Bill Ginn.

He had a Midget. When it blew a gear, it was cheaper to put a galant motor and box in it than replace the gear. Not my way of doing things, but there you go.

Spent a fortune modifying it but now it just sits in the shed, or at least I think it is still there.

My last hurrah at the club was attending the Australian Sprite meeting at Catalina Park raceway. An amazing weekend at a decaying track just about to close. Cars trying to set times as fog so thick you couldn't see your nose rolled in half way through, filling the hole in which the track was situated. Engines being rebuilt on the ground of the pits overnight ready to go the next day, with everyone pitching in with parts and hands.

I think that belonged to Mandy PJ

    A memorable trip!
