Default 1JZGTE--What cam sensor to use. Aftermarket ECU

    Hey guys.
Iv'e been searching all over and can't get a definate answer. Im wiring in my Link to my
1JZ atm but am stuck with the cam sensor wiring. Does anybody know what sensor actually triggers TDC because im told that one triggers TDC and the other triggers BDC.
If worse comes to worse i will take the cam cover off and wind it over to see which is which but would really like to avoid doing so as i just sealed them.

    Cheers in advance.

what sort of link? If it's a G4 then this should get you sorted:

Should also be similar for the G3, Trigger 1 to the crank sensor, Trigger 2 to the Cam for synch (Rear cam sensor from memory)

Couldn't find that anywhere. Searched for about an hour. Iv'e already got all the software setup for what i want.
I just need to know what cam sensor to use, the one in the middle of the head or the one at the rear. No one can give me a definate answer.

    Im running a G4 extreme.

It's out of Ray's version of the help file from the vipec, there's a whole lot more engine-specific setup info in there now, can be found in V4.4.1

If you want the latest link software/firmware (beta from what I can tell) you can download it here to have a look: http://www.linkecu.com/support/downl...d/PCLinkV4_4_0

You'll find in the boost setup in link's v4.4.0 there's a "test" option in the dropdown, looks to be the testing setup for the development of the closed loop boost control. If you install the v4.4.0 beta you have to go and reset all the temp sensor error levels as they have both a min and max level for all of them now. Bit confusing if you're not aware that needs to be done as the ECU flags errors all over the place, just clear the error log after they're configured.

Yeah i have all that also. The place i used to tune for was a Link dealer so i know my way round the Link and the whole setup. It's just what sensor i need to use that's slowing me down.

Cool, just checked on the vipec forum and it is the rear cam sensor to be used.

Ah crap. I just got ahead of myself and heatshrunk the wiring an tucked it away. Was going to use the one in the middle because that's what it advises on the Microtech setup. I should have known better then to trust the Microwreck crap. Hopeless.

    Cheers.
