Default How to mate GT28RS into 3SGTE ST185

I just bought the bare GT28RS Turbo.

I'd like to mate it with my 3SGTE engine ST185. Does anybody out there ever done this before ?

If yes, please advice me what are the things that need to be done ? Your advice really appreciated. Thanks.

    You need;
    - Either an exhaust manifold with the correct flange for the GT28RS or fashion an adapter for the stock manifold -> GT28RS exhaust flange.
    - A dump pipe and then a pipe from your dump -> cat
    - Intercooler piping made up to fit the new turbo
    - water lines
    - oil feed lines

money would have been better spent on a CT20b or ST215/246 turbofold which both offer similar or better bolt on performance at the same or better pricepoint. don't forget larger injectors + tuning (may need new computer as the ST185 computer has a nasty AFM and crappy boost cut thresholds, no point having a great new turbo if the ECU is holding the party back.)

A GT28RS will cream a CT26 even with the 'horrid' stock computer.

Add the the list above for a 185:
    Oil feed adapter
    Sump adapter for drain
And fabricate a new water elbow for the water lines

Jordan the "turbofold" is not backwards compatible so unless the st185 has a gen 4 in it the manifold wont fit. Early 3s had an extra stud that the gen 4 doesnt have!

so you take the stud out, if it's in the way...

In any event with a haltech and big injectors you'll be able to wave goodbye to the AFM and realize the full potential out of that turbo.

If your going to the trouble of a haltech and big injectors why hold it back with a stocko turbo?????? Something from the gt30 series would suit far better.

Fairly sure the port spacing of the Gen 4 is different to the Gen 2, not just the fact it has an extra stud.
