    Default ta22 indicator problems

hey guys, ive got an sr20det ta22, i lost all indicators n hazard light operation the other day after smelling burning wires, i cant figure out where the hell i have lost power and was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem? i dont think the indicators have been fused after 90% of the car was rewired and the first place power gets too after the fuse box is the hazard light switch, i cant see any burnt wires in the circuit and power isnt passing the hazard light switch which it should be im extremely lost i have also replaced the hazard switch but still nothing any help would be awesome

I had a similar problem recently with my celica however I lost power everywhere, there was also a burning smell as well. It ended up being a loose battery connection behind the amp gauge in the dash. Good luck.

I had this problem in my TA22.

What happened with me was a plug under the steering column about 8 or so wires wide - don't quote me) had a single wire burn out. Bugger me if i knew why, but i had troubleshooted the same path as you did before i noticed the burnt wire only after i had checked the plug with a light tester as the burnt wire was very descrete. I passed a new wire around the burnt pin in the plug and never had problems again.

I hope this applies to you.

...yep, if you can smell burning wires its a fair call to assume thyre in your cabin....

check the steering cluster (are you running your old celica...or your donor cuar electrics like me??)

    check your dash light indicators

    check earths

then go happy hunting in your engine bay...

My best guess would be the circuit burning out between the switches and the earthing since this is what sidelined my RA23....

    goodluck and all the best!
