different flywheel
dunno about the input shafts
hey can anyone confirm that these are the same or that they are different please
and also if the w58 input shaft is different or the same as the r154 input shaft?
cheers
different flywheel
dunno about the input shafts
- ma61 + 2jz-gte + v160 + 3.5 torsen
thanks man
Flywheel is different, as said.
W5x and R154 gearbox input shaft splines are the same.
Cheers
Wilbo
thankyou very much.

well i know for sure a 2jzge flywheel fits on a 1jzgte because thats what is in my hilux. i was running a exeddy hd clutch with the old g52 and i still have the same clutch with the r150f. cheers big wad

wilbo isnt saying that the flywheels bolts are different, its that the 7mge pressure plate has the same bolt pattern on it as the 2jzge. It was pretty obvious that all jz engine's flywheels are interchangable.
Must admit that I am now very confused?
Rob said - different flywheel

Willbo666 said - Flywheel is different, as said.

Then
Chuck said - rob, just out of interest, what are the differences between the flywheels?
And
Big wad said - well i know for sure a 2jzge flywheel fits on a 1jzgte because thats what is in my hilux. i was running a exeddy hd clutch with the old g52 and i still have the same clutch with the r150f. cheers big wad
And then Chaserbuddy finished off with - wilbo isnt saying that the flywheels bolts are different, its that the 7mge pressure plate has the same bolt pattern on it as the 2jzge. It was pretty obvious that all jz engine's flywheels are interchangable
????
I'll try and clear up the confusion?
1) 2JZGE W58 flywheel is different to 1JZGTE R154 Flywheel
This is due to Push Type (2JZGE W58) vs Pull Type (1JZGTE R154) pressure plates.
2) W58 and R154 gearbox input shaft splines are the same
3) Any xJZ flywheel will bolt to any xJZ. They all share the same 8 bolt pattern.
As chaserbuddy pointed out, it is well know / obvious that all xJZ flywheels are interchangeable... this leads us onto 4)
4) 2JZGE W58 Pressure Plate is same as 7MGE W58 pressure plate
I was trying to show that the 2JZGE/7MGE W58 pressure bolt pattern is different to 1JZGTE R154 by posting pictures of each.
I didn't have a picture of a 2JZGE W58 flywheel handy so I posted a picture of a 7MGE W58 flywheel which has the same pressure plate (PP) as 2JZGE W58.
I didn't post a picture of a 2JZGE W58 flywheel, it is a 7MGE W58 flywheel. However as the topic of conversation was the difference in pressure plate mounting it is relevant
Still confused?
Cheers

Just to stir the pot a little bit.
If I could get the R154 flywheel dowel pins relocated and redrill bolt holes for push type pressure cover, will that works with W58?
^^^^ why not just get a 2jzge flywheel, seems like less hassle.
With the absolute plethora of clutch and pressure plate variants available, I can not see why you could not get a clutch that would work with the 2J fly that is of the push type. Leave it with me, I will drop an R154 flywheel into my clutch suppliers and see how we go.
cheers Chuck.
