Where to get a bit of aluminium sheet?

Does anyone know where I can get a bit of 10mm aluminium, like an offcut or whatever?

I only need a piece about the size of an A3 sheet of paper, and don't want to have to fork out for a whole 2400x1200mm sheet.

Any ideas for whereabouts in Brisbane something like this can be found?

Sheetmetal or fabrication joint.

"Please sir, would you be able to spare an offcut of aluminium sheet in about this size (holding hands apart abut A3 size)?..."

Can also try Capral smart aluminium centres. Got some 6mm and 10mm from them last week. They have off cuts of vartious sizes but will charge you for it. Not too bad though, got about three A4 sized pieces for $40. I'm sure they will have stores in Brisbane...

Scrap metal yards are also good if they let you pick over their bins, they're sometimes really cheap...

price will depend on what type of alluminum your after. if its just normal shit that requirs not strength then max you should pay its about $25. But if ya after somthing with abit of strength like aviation grade then chances are they wont have a offcut laying around but may in the future.

It's just for a coil pack bracket (Microtech X4) on a mates Mazda 323 and some tow hooks for my Levin. I made thetow hooks beefy, so the stock doesn't have to be anything special.

Yeah Smart Aluminum aren't bad, I've got offcuts / small sections from them before...

Oh and I think 10mm would be called plate not sheet?

Also I think the avg price for alloy is around $3AU / Kg in qty...I can't recall the cost my machining friend used to work off, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was around $6/Kg (or more)?
