New Forums Niggles Thread!

Create a thread and write a post of about 1 line (with something along the lines of "this thread will be edited", etc...), if it works edit it and write the whole thing.

Yeah i tried that a couple times yesterday, did the same thing.

Ed: same issue as on PF when using certain words in the title (Car on PF.

Also one little niggle, the timeout for "online"ness seems to be about an hour since the last page is viewed. Can this be brought down a bit, say 10-15mins?

The little green/black icon next to the name indicates whether someone is online. However it always has a timeout, i.e. when i finish browsing here ill go to repco, and not be online, but the forum will think im online for an hour.

The timeout here seems to be an hour after the last page visit, versus 10-15minutes on most other forums. Its just useful to know whether someone is online when you are PMing them.

It used to be 10mins here, but it has changed since the uprgade.

Yeah got it working but was too tired to write up the thread properly.

I was trying to call it "The dedicated thread of the Century"...........any problems with any of those words?

Ahhh, gotcha.........that sucks though, can it be editted later to say it? Was trying to make a similar thread to the other dedicated model threads. There doesnt appear to be one yet

Call it a "dedicated discussion".

Or, use a thesaurus. (If thread can be found in it with the same meaning as we use it as.)

Takai - I'll look into the time out thing. the new version has certain presets for server load effeciency that altered during the upgrade.
