    Default xtreme carbon clutches

hey peeps, its clutch time as my single plate is poo. Extreme tell me that they cant supply a better single plate but can do me a twin carbon clutch.
Has anyone tried one of these bad boys, what are they like ?. The good thing about them is that they can custom build it to fit in my bellhousing, unlike other off shelf one's.

    open to ideas ?
4ag-dellows-w58 is what im working with.

    thanx.

Hmm maybe i made that part up. i guess mine is 1350 too then.

    Is urs slipping?

Twin plate is your next option as you noted. Removes the street application though.

    Why are you upgrading?

yeh it slipps its hasnt done that many k's either. twins can be pretty forgiving but ive never tried or driven an extreme twin before nor do i know anyone that has one.

i need to upgrade asap but its gonna be an expensive stint because i need to rebuild the box aswell.

i tried to give you rep but apparantly i have to give it to other people first (i do rememeber having a winge about that haha)

Not true these days, the multi plate carbon units are more friendly in most cases than button single plates. Not sure what RP071 on here is using in terms of brand but it's a multi plate carbon unit behind a 2J and he uses it as a daily. Others who have driven it thought it was unreal too.

You're right on the 1350 clamp load being about the limit on the 4A single plates too, everyone seems say around 1300kg is about as much as they can get out of these particular pressure plates in the 212mm version.

If you go the mutliplate be sure to let us know how it goes.

NPC clutches have done a few 4age clutches, I myself have a "frankenstein" clutch in my 4agte levin(ae92 fwd). Nick was a good bloke to talk with, clutch is beautiful to drive on(I had a twin, was super ghey).

Clutch mainly comprises of a modified evo pressureplate with a custom flywheel to suit, clamp was around the 1350kg mark but he said he could go higher. (215mm)

    Oh cushioned button also.

Was fairly well priced as well.

Might be worth a shot, P.S he has done them for sprinter applications also

ive been driving the car heaps latley but i dont normaly so even if its a bit of a prick to drive i wont mind. (tho im confident it will fine)

    thanx fellaz.
