    Default R154 short shifter

Hey I'm new to toyota's but have been a fan for quite some time and due to a major motor cycle acident a few months ago find myself in a suituation where I will be driving a car for the forseable future rather than riding a bike. so as im replacing a machine capable of 300km/h I'm going all out on a car. I'm getting an IS200 built with A 2JZGTE. single turbo TO4Z, big fuel system, suspention etc etc. its going to cost a packet but I think it will be worth it.

so to get to the point. The car will be running a R154 gear box and im just wondering if it is worthwhile to put a short shifter on it? and if anyone has come across a good kit?

    thanks

Most of the W58 kits will fit onto the R154.

Are you using the remote shifter housing R154 from a JZX100 or just a normal housing? I have a short shifter on my R154(JZA70) box and I find it is pretty good, far better then the stock length. There is a short throw kit you can get from NZ for just over $200 which looks to be pretty good, here is a link to a closed action for one:

I have seen them on there a fair bit and have considered getting one myself.

If you have the Remote housing from a JZX100 R154 then there really isn't much point in getting a shortshifter as they are generally pretty good to start with.

Ok, seeing its in an IS200 I would believe it would be the JZX100 R154 as the extra length is required to fit the shifter in, atleast I'm pretty sure thats right
