Default A6x, xZ1x brake upgrade threads? one with pics?

    hi folks,

is there a newer thread than this: http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=239

I wanted to help out a guy up here on the coast with improving his 6MGE-powered MA61 and discovered that CrUZida's thread - while extremely useful- had all its pics MIA.

    tia,
    Charles.

Yes, my dirty ISP has fucked it all up.

You might find some pictures here in this thread.

Assuming you are willing to redrill rotors (which im pretty sure Cruz's setup needs to do anyway) you can also use the BA Falcon/R33 Caliper upgrade, as seen on Norbies page: http://www.norbie.net/Project2JZ/Bra...de/default.htm

The only difference between what Norbie does and what you would do is to just keep the stock struts, and bolt everything up to those, you still have to machine down your hubs. 145mm should be a goer.

P.s. Cruz, do you want web hosting for those pics? I can setup a subdirectory on my gallery host for you for Toymods/Tech pictures.

thanks guys - the bloke already has some 300ZX calipers but am not sure if he wants to change the struts to MX83 (like Norbie) and am not sure who up on the sunshine coast would be willing to give struts a big bend (like Accurate did for Norbie).

I've sent him a link to Norbie's site.

Nah, you dont have to use the MX83 struts. If you notice on Cruz's upgrade the boltspacing is the same betweeen the R33 calipers and the MA61 struts which means you can use the BA discs to eliminate the spacer that Cruz has had to use for the R33 disc.

The benefits of the Skyline setup is that the R32 setup fits under lots of 15" rims (maybe even some 14" rims?), you can use the same brackets for the S13 SR20DET brakes (280x16mm and single pot calipers) for much better rim clearance, and finally the fact that GTR and R34 stuff also uses the same bracket.

If you already have R33 calipers the BA setup is a better option.
