Considering how many times google refers to thread contents on Toymods, I can see where some cleanup would be beneficial.

Hey old fogies don't get dumped on much here which is an improvement on some other car sites.

Go for it guys, nothing so thankless than working in your own time on a non-paying job for others benefit.

I was going to suggest locking this thread but realised it may need to stay open whilst the changes are pushed through, to be used in an faq type of manner.

    sidenote:

I'm still wondering how Kirsty got into the Queanbeyan childcare centre.

I second Tom's suggestion of a lock, forum software should allow for the thread to be unlocked/only postable by admins. +1 for a cleanup too.

I'm all for a clean up, It seems to be already happening in some threads (stockbroking and toms old members ride) and even just the existence of this thread seems to be encouraging people to limit the spam.

With the black frames thread it seems that the condition isn't actual offense given, rather its the potential to offend thats the problem with some of them. While I'm unusually hard to offend it is pretty easy to see how some of them could cause a problem to others.

I'm another of the people that read at least the mouse over text for most threads in the tech section but often get from that the idea that I wont be able to help so go no further. I wont post in the tech sections unless I'm absolutely sure about what I'm saying (which unfortunately doesnt happen all that often) so my ratio of technical versus non-car discussion posts isn't the best.

As always, cheers to the board and mods for all the work that goes into running this place

Finally, a members ride thread. I present project One Thing Lead to Another (nominations for a better name are now open)

How ironic that the thread specifically created to give notice of a clean-up of the forums itself requires clean-up....

Another way to clean up these forums is to get rid of all the 7Ms

that avatar Kristy has displayed is actually a bit out of step with the direction the forums is taking. perhaps it ought to be replaced with something more family-friendly... something that does not convey such a poor message to more impressionable forum users? i find the real consequences of mixing alcohol and infants far from amusing.

congratulations to the users who have enthusiastically embraced the new agenda currently being pushed by the powers-that-be.

    Dear Toymods Forum Moderating Team,

Unfortunately I do have to agree with some of my fellow forum members above.
If someone is going to find a some of the black frame pics offensive, then the potential is there that they would equally find Kirsty's avatar offensive.

Im not referring to the soft-porn at all here (i do agree that it was out of hand and have no problem with that being removed) - but im referring more to the so called "borderline" jokes that have been removed.
Should jokes about religion be removed cos they might be offensive to someone of that faith?
Should jokes about Nazi germany be removed cos germans or jews might find them offensive?

    Where is the line drawn?

Personally i dont mind either way - im just trying to highlight the point that the line that has been drawn so far isnt straight and could be confusing to many as to what is deemed acceptable and what is not.

    Best regards,

    The Witzl.

    Karl,

The line is clear enough to me. Any additial areas of moderation are being handled same as always. If we get a complaint we look at it and take action if we feel its required.

    All,

The recents pistake of families for avatars and such like some of the comments in this thread only serve to dwindle my tollerance of people who to me are bitch slapping the face of those of us who are trying to get things back on track. Needless to say I am a small and petty man so when the humour wears off, the banning for reflection time will start.

No Porn, No Smut, No NSFW, No derogetory comments about how x didled y's wife while drunk, stoned or both.

We are not the censorship board, but we do repsond to complaints.
