    Exclamation Forums Clean Up

    Hi,

Forums are like numerous other systems, where the chaos theory creeps in and slowly erodes the once pristine state.

As such, it has come time to clean up the Toymods forums, and re-align it to the values that the Toymods Car Club strives to achieve. That is, being a family friendly site.

We are all guilty to some degree for playing our part in the degeneration of these forums, but the time has come to cleanse them and get these forums back to how they initially started.

The following threads have been removed:-
    - Social Meet-up/Helicopter Pilot thread
    - Things you do when drunk

A new Social meet-up thread has been put in place, and is to be used purely for organising gatherings and social events that fall outside the events calender in the forums. Please try and keep it for that purpose.

The drunk thread has no place in these forums, and there is no place for such threads or such activites to be posted here.

The Black-frame picture thread is under close scrutiny to ensure it abides by the rules.

Technical threads must have accurate and useful titles, or they will be deleted.

Titles in all threads of all sections must abide by the forum rules and anything deemed outside of these rules will be deleted.

Threads and posts must abide by the forum rules and any threads or posts that fail to meet the forum rules will be deleted.

People who continually break the rules will be banned.

We can still have fun and enjoy ourselves, but we need to do it in a manner that is not offensive.

    Thank you.

I've been complaining for ages, good to see something being done.

    Cuzzo,

The forums clean up has been in discussion around the board for quite some time. We were planning to do it in conjunction with a new forum upgrade but due to a few technical issues that has not happened yet. As such we are beginning the process now rather than waiting any longer.

We are a social and family friendly club so we need to have a family friendly forum.

Having been a part of many forums over many years, I can honestly say that this is most member friendly approach I've seen. Too many times moderators would go their own way in using their power and judgement in bring forums back into line.

Seeing a unified approach, with an explanation to the membership about what happened in the past, why things need to change and the reasoning behind these changes is very refreshing.

Good work to the moderators, and thanks especially to River for not letting us stray too far from the course over the last few months.

I dont think it is about saving space by deleting big threads, but more to do with the content.

Yes, your thread doesnt actually have much to do with your car but you dont mind either, and since its not going against any of the above rules then there should be no need to delete it.

I think Tom wanted a proper thread about his car, hence why he had the old thread closed and started again (i havent looked at it because i actually want to see the pics of his car - stupid imageshack filter at work).

I think it would be more likely some of the more risque posts will be deleted. Just means the posts with the questionable material which also features good stuff can be reposted, for more laughs minus boobs !

    Matt,

Its not about removing fun and humour form the forums, its about removing smut and porn type material. There are forum users such as yourself who have a healthy balance of humour and actual contributions of a technical nature or who help to educate the masses on the importance of Dish. This is a good thing.

Random smut, porn and comments of conquests in the pants department and not a good thing. Post whores who dribble shitin every thread and contribute nothing of substance are not a good thing.

So in short, your thread is not targetted for deletion. If there is some content you think should be removed pm me the post numbers and I will have it sorted, I am sure as hell not reading through 160 pages to look for it

Ohhh, I saw the big page count and assumed the thread you mentioned was the black frame thread.

    My bad MR1JZ.

    Carry on.

I agree this is a good idea. I am guilty of the odd joke here or there (hopefully didn't contribute too much to this move). I love Toymods for it's technical content, I also quite enjoy the funnies, ie black border thread but I am afraid to go there at work.

So I have a suggestion. How about a subscription only section where anything that is not appropriate for the now family friendly Toymods can be placed. If you are not interested in that type of content then just don't subscribe. This would allow for some venting without fear of retribution and allow me to see the funnies when I am at home
