"Filter Noise" Box

Hi,

While stripping my soarer I found a small white box labeled "Filter Noise" it was on the left side of the boot. I'm wondering what this is for, any Ideas?

Everything had been taken out so I couldn't trace it to see where the wires go.

might be something to do with the antenna for the radio?

Might be, but I dont think so as the antenna was connected directly to another box and then straight to the head unit, didn't run through the filter noise box at all.

did the car have a stock amp?

might have been a filter for that or something. or mobile phone?

Hi,

Stock amp no, the speakers ran off the head unit.
Car didn't have any mobile phone.

one of those 'anti rust' or 'grounding' boxes or one of brockies gel filled boxes maybe?

Im fairly certain it is for the rear glass heating circuit, attaches to the metal tabs on the bottom of the rear glass on the passengers side.

Wonder why it would say "FILTER NOISE" on it then?

Hi,

Just wondering how could it filter the alternator noise, Like I said I don't know what the box was connected to but it was in the left side of the boot behind the trims.

Not sure if they were around then, but all the talk of the rear windscreen makes me think of a in-glass antenna, where the antenna itself is embedded in the glass - the box would be a radio suppressor/filter to cancel out the alternator whine.
