aw11 startup problems.

I just swapped out the gearbox in my aw11 i did so by dropping the engine out as a whole. Ive now put it all back in but i cant get the car to start. The engine cranks and after a few seconds it manages to kick over but for only 1 second and then it just dies. Could this be a timing issue?

check your getting spark, fuel, make sure the AFM is plugged, all the injectors are plugged in, all other sensors etc. are plugged in.

unless you moved the distributor or replaced the timing belt the timing should be the same as it was before you pulled it out.

fact that it fires over for a second says he is getting spark, check the injectors are plugged in correctly when i helped my mate do this a while back he plugged to injectors in the wrong way so it did what you are saying.
Basically just go over everything as feral said and you should find the problem.

check that you've reconnected all the black earth wires
theres 4 little ones that are bolted down with a 10mil bolt on the inlet manifold (easy to miss)
was the distributor removed at all?
how much fuel is in the tank?
how many times have you tried to start it?
did any part of the harness catch on removal or refit of the engine, you may have severed a wire or 2
after you check if it has any spark and fuel do the computer code test, see what code fault comes up, if any
