I used this setup waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day.
I used a cold start injector hooked up to a old fuel pump it worked ok. You can trigger the pump with the pressure sensor.
Not sure where to get the sensor from. Mabe try J car or dick smiths
hey im looking at setting up a crude water injection system within the next ???? im not looking for a lecture on how water injection doesnt work, or a lecture on what brand of kit i should buy as its not going to happen, if my trial with a cheap home set up system works, then i will think about wasting money i dont have on a rediculously overpriced kit....ANYWAY, i was just wondering if anybody knew where i would be able to source the required jet, and an adjustable boost pressure switch, and what i would expect to pay for these items? thanks in advance

i have heard of alot of ppl running straight from there washer pump into a jet using a boost switch to activate the pump with great success, wouldnt an injector flow too much?
i dont think a washer pump will have enough pressure to over come the boost and i think you would find it would just trickle in if that.
I put a restrictor in the line and regd the pressure.

I once used an old fuel pump (from an MA61) to pump water, and it seized up within a day. How were you able to use a fuel pump and keep it alive?

You want a 'Hobbs switch', most workshops should be able to source one. Not cheap though, I think last time I priced one it was about $60 trade. These are completely adjustable and very reliable.and an adjustable boost pressure switch
Other switches are no doubt available.

YLD, thanks man ill get onto it![]()
A friend has used a similar setup for methanol injection, though water injection would work much the same. Washer bottle motors work fine as long as they are pre-turbine, though obviously then you have issues with the wheel being pitted over time by the fluid. An injector and old fuel pump would work better, though as for longevity with water in those parts I'm not sure.
Water injection isn't bad in theory but I wouldn't bet a motor on it... if anything build a setup you're happy with, then add water injection as an extra safety measure, not to get extra power, as if it fails you'll be beyond what your motor can handle without it.
