use some thin threaded rod/tube in the extension arm to permit some adjustability?
So just bought a new gt3076R that is internally gated and for some reason the wastegate actuator comes seperate. So I had a look at it and it appears that the rod is way too long and will need to be shortened. However, I sort of need to know what the approximate angle of the wastegate flap is at maximum. I read a bit about 45deg on 2jz turbos so not sure if I should aim for that. Or I could just copy the length of the wastegate actuator on the gt35 that came off the car? I understand shorter rod = more boost and the opposite so I just don't want to chop it too short and have an unusable actuator arm.
Thanks
Chris

it is already threaded for adjustability but I figured if I was to chop it too much then I would be limited by that rather than the thread. So I guess it is better to be a bit too long to start with and work from there.
If it is brand new, shouldnt the appropriate wastegate be sold with the turbo ??? Maybe contact the company you bought it from and ask them Chris ? Seems weird if the rod was incorrect on a new unit to me.

was a stuffup with the order. Apparently you can actually buy an internally wastegated turbo without the actuator for some reason? So they then had to send the actuator out seperately. Do you think it could be the incorrect one if it is too long as is? Maybe for some massive turbo but I wouldn't think there would be too many bigger than a 35 that are even internally gated?
