My R33/BA brake upgrade bites like a little mofo, im still using the stock Nissan pads, and DBA rotors. I bedded in by 4 hard brakes from 80km/h to 5km/h (make sure you dont lock the brakes up).

Assuming the MX83 calipers are the same size as MA61/MX73 calipers, then they are near identical in size to the Nissan calipers.
    From memory its within 1%.

    Pedal travel should be identical.

Had similar problem before, you need to bed in the rotors to the associated pads.

This can sometimes be impossible with old pads.

Make sure the pads are not glazed then use the normal bedding in process reccomended by the manufacturer.

Race or metal type pads can cause all sorts of dramas with new rotors.

COuld also be the stock rubber brake lines ballooning ??? Maybe try some braided brake lines up front. Seems to fix alot of soarer issues with similar problems mentioned Chris.

Take the advice about the pads. Competition pads need to be hot to work. If that's what you've got, it's probably the problem. I did this once on a motor cycle and in city driving the bike had almost no retardation at all.

Thanks for advice all. Start with new pads and proper bedding in and see how I go from there
