MX10 brake upgrade.

hi wats the easiest and biggest brakes that will go on a mx10 corona mk2

Assuming they are the same as an MX13 (fairly safe bet) I was able to use 60 (80?) series Landcruiser calipers with Peugeot rotors (the ones everyone uses... 406 I think?)

The steering arm or caliper will need to be ground down a couple of mm, and the holes on the rotors will need to be touched up with a round file, but otherwise this is a bolt-up conversion.

asumming that its the same as the mx13/23 aswell,

started throwing the brakes on this morn,

few more lil hickups not relevant to the original pug/lux combo,

the bolts holding the rotor to the hub foul on the split pins on the steering arm crown bolts, the split pins must wrap around the side of the nut, not over the front,






the caliper needs to be spaced back 1.5mm back so the caliper is central over the rotor,



spacing the caliper back ment having to space the steering arm back 3mm....,



all mounted up, just waiting on some pads to slap in, as im not happy with the way that the RX7 pads fit...they require to much filing down.



happy with how it turned out tho, $350 and i have brakes that will pull up

hi thanks for the info..just wanna make sure what the rotors are off. can u get slotted versions? and the calipers are off a landcruiser 60s?

they are peugeot 604 rotors. you will have to get them slotted. the calipers are definitely off a 60 series landcruiser, but you can use later landcruiser and hilux ones as they all have the same bolt spacing. the ones you want will be stamped with S12+8 or S12W.

Just to verify that all MX 10,13,22,23 and RT 104 Ronas run the same brakes.

i've found that some rt104s (maybe some mx10s also) have single piston shit-tin calipers, probably put on there by AMI. but they are the same bolt spacing as the twin piston calipers and therefore the hilux/landcruiser calipers too.
da12nv- alot of the later model hiluxes and landcruisers run the right brakes, just make sure you get the ones that have the code stamped on them that i mentioned in my last post
