Lift up the car and put the car up onto stands. Get someone to stand behind the car and listern for any unsual noises and concentrate for noises comming from the Diff. If it is from the diff, it could be the TruTrac.

After having done around 1300kms on my lovely new 7M, I have noticed a faint but noticable clunk in the car.
You can also slightly feel it through the steering wheel.
It is consistent with road speed which rules out anything from the gearbox forward.
It does not sound like a vibration but a periodic "clunk" thats frequency rises with road speed.
I have checked tyre pressures at this stage and that is all.
I haven't checked properly whether it still does it under different conditions ie acceleration/deceleration/rolling. I also haven't checked the rear end of the car up yet, put it in gear and spun the wheels.
The car has a new driveshaft, Truetrac LSD and good tyres and wheels. Bearings in the diff would be lucky to be 2500kms old.
The rear driveshafts are still the original items.
The CW&P in the diff is old and slightly worn (a few chips on teeth), clunky at low speeds and has a decent whine at 80kmh.
So from all this I am assuming it is the crownwheel and pinion, or driveshafts. The only thing I can think of with the CW&P are a majorly fucked tooth (but it seems too slow to be this) or slop in he uni joints...
If it is the truetrac centre I will be extremely pissed off.
If anyone can point me in the right direction that'd be great. I'm coming up to uni exams and want to spend as little time as possible with the car off the road

When were the rear wheel bearings last changed?

rear wheel bearings probably about 3 years ago, when the brakes were done
the rear rotors are probably on the minimum size and rear pads have meat but are old.
had a better listen tonight when driving- does it irrespective of whether it's rolling/accel/decel, and is much more noticable at <30kmh.
it is still quite faint though. best way to describe it is like it sounds/feels like you are running over reflectors etc on the road. thump thump thump etc.
hoping it's just crownwheel and pinion, as it's noisy as fuck anyway and i;d love an excuse to fix it
or driveshafts... basically the only things that aren't new on the car
I vote drive shafts.
