inside dia of the ae86 strut is about 49mm, and it wont matter too much if the shock is a little smaller than that, so i'd say you'd be alright, as long as the shocks you just bought are short stroke
hi all
Im just about to purchase some inserts for the struts in my AE86.
I have ST141 struts which are the same as RA60 stuts.
my question is, am i able to purchase inserts designed for ae86 and fit them into the strut i have.
The struts have been cut down for coilovers and thus ill be using a short stroke shock, ill be using a spacer at the bottom of the strut too. Basically my only concern is the diameter of the strut in relation too the diameter of the insert. will it all fit??

AE86 - coming soon to a quiet mountain pass near you...
WRX - currently epa'd...
sweet, ill get onto it now. probably going to use MR2 rear inserts, i know that they have a shorter stroke. should do the job.

remember though, the normal kyb "excel g" shocks (non-adjustable) get a little bouncy with any spring above about 5kg/mm. (i know from experiance)

ST141/RT142/XT130 all have the same strut ID and OD as a sprinter strut.
