R154 will not select Reverse

Hi,

I had the same issue when I purchased my R154. The problem was that reverse had overjumped the detent....I think my box may have been dropped at some point during transit

It was a pretty easy fix as I hadn't yet put the box in the car. Stripped the casings off the box and a little manipulation had the gears back in the right order and working fine. That's my experience and I hope it is also that easy for you.

I think what ill do is ill take it down to where i got it from politly ask him if theres anything he can do if not i guess ill have to bite the bullett and pull it out and look at the reverse gear and if its as easy as you say it is peterH it should be ok. Thanks for that!!!!

Take the reverse light switch out and try to move/pry the shift rod toward the rear of the car .

Ahhh ok thats one to try.... What you thinking it maybe stuck???
