Default 7M-GE Distributor options - Vacuum advanced

I'm converting my 4Runner to 7M-GE soon and want to do it running dedicated LPG...
To simplify the conversion process I'd love to be able to do away with the EFI gear and my fuel tank!
In order to achieve this I need a distributor which doesn't require the ECU to map the timing..

Can anyone please offer any solutions or advice to help me get around this if possible?

How compatible is the 5M-GE vacuum advance dizzy with the 7M?

Also been given the idea of converting the 7M dizzy from reluctors to hall effect trigger and running a simple ignition kit.. A bit of work but less than setting up all gear for EFI!
    Simplicity is my goal!!

Any opinions or advice appreciated, solutions even more so

If you converted the 7M dizzy to hall, you would get locked timing sine you wont have the centrifugal weights and vac advance.
To fix this youll need a programmable ignition computer, like a MSD or Megaspark.

briney - Yeah that would be handy if you could swap the tops easily!!
Does anyone do dizzy mods like that in Adelaide? I have a complete spare 7M dizzy

MWP - I briefly spoke to andrew_mx83 and he's in the process of trying the hall trigger conversion and planning to run a programmable module from Jaycar that cost about $80..
That seems to me like the prefferable way to go as the end result would be better ignition control.. But I have 0.01% experience with distributors beyond changing points so hoping andrew_mx83 has some luck

Oh yeah, i forgot about the Jaycar module, that would be perfect.
I thought the Jaycar kit could trigger from a reluctor?
If it can, there is no need to change to hall-effect.

I had a look at the kit on the Jaycar website but the info there was quite sparse and not overly technical!

Youll need to find a copy of the article from the original Silicon Chip mag.

    [edit]

    From the Silicon Chip website:

This latest Programmable Ignition from SILICON CHIP is far more advanced in features and its ability to produce an accurate advance curve. It is also a complete stand-alone ignition system that is triggered by an engine position sensor and then drives the ignition coil. It can be triggered from one of many sensors in a distributor, including points, reluctor, Hall effect, optical trigger and the 5V signal from the car’s Engine Control Unit (ECU).

Wouldn't it be simpler just to leave the ECU loom and airflow meter in place. Just like a dual fuel setup that never runs on unleaded.

Maybe, haven't started the conversion yet..
If it would be easier that way then that's the way I'll do it.
Been researching the Jaycar ignition module though and I think there's a new one that can be triggered by VR dizzy which would be the best option as then I won't have to wire up the 7M loom, just the Ignition gear..
Either way, I'm very open to all suggestions
