    Default 1jz without p/s

is their any easy soplution to runnign a 1jz sep. belt without powersteering or aircon?

only possible options i can think of is try swap the tensioner pully for a ripped one if u can get em, or ditch the tensioner pully and mount the alternator so thay u can use the alt to tension the belt (like on a 7m)

interested to know where u mounted the alternator i ideally would like mine on the pass side to match the existing wiring loom as this 1jz motor is just a temp thing till i finish off my 7m

it will wear the belt out alot quicker, plenty o commonwhore's at wreckers, the ribbed pulley is a direct bolt on

I just copied TOY77's idea off his thread, it almost bolted onto the other side of the block using factory bolt holes, though i did have to shave a bit off the actual alternator to get it to sit flush with the rest of the pulley's.

did u decide to keep the factory tensioner or just make up a similar tensioner to toy77s aswell?

so your bell style idler pulleys (ones without grooves/teeth) are only designed to take the backside of a ribbed belt and runs the risk of flattening the teeth of a ribbed belt if run the other way?
