If you post up the 10 digit part number on the top of the ECU we can tell you what it is out of
Or a pic of the plugs on the ECU would also help.

I know the code 47 is sub throttle which is deleted for the install into my hilux.
And that the fix should be to jump the throttle Vc to the sub throttle VTA
But my ecu doesn't match the only wiring diags I have found and I don't know what vehicle the engine/trans/ecu is from.
Everything is running fine but the flashing light is really pissing me off.
Is it possible to identify the ecu from its' serial# then find the correct wiring/pins to stop the error code?
Or any other way to clear the error code?

When I said serial, it's probably actually the part #
"9717500401-1"
wrote it down before I stopped fiddling this morning.
AFAICT, pin 11 on plug C is Vc blu/red
What I though was Vta2, pin 15, is yel/blu
Jumping these does not clear code, that's where I'm currently stuck
I can take pics & get more info tomorrow if the id # above isn't enough
Take a pic if you would, I can't get that part number to come up in the EPC

Will do. May be a typo, I was getting pretty cranky, was running late to go do some real work...
skipped a dash![]()
"9717500-401-1"
![]()
It's the number above that one that you need, will probably be white text on a coloured background

Yeah that is the Denso part number, not Toyota I'm afraid.
There isn't another part number somewhere on the ECU?
i.e. The number '89661-14820' in the below pic is what we want your equivalent of... it goes xxxxx-xxxxx
I'm actually not sure why you have a code 47 reading this (JZS147 Aristo but would think it would relate / be the same...). The bit of note is were it says you don't get a code if the TPS is disconnected...
Anyway you should be able to trace the wires back from the Sub-TPS plug to the ECU with a multimeter

Pulled ecu again, didn't recall anything being on underside - there is no other ID of any kind.
So working from the other end then, any indication as to which pin on the sub tps is the Vc & VTA2?
![]()
See below diagram (Looking at the plug)
VTA is the gold coloured pin.
Also as I said before having the sensor unplugged shouldn't throw a code... at least on a 2JZGTE... perhaps 1UZ is different, but I'd be surprised!

thanks
I've just finished wiggling the damn plug out from under the throttle body - they do match the ecu end
pin C 11 blu-red VC
pin C 15 yel-blu VTA2
"C" being the 22pin ecu plug
So is it true that jumping these two pins should clear the code 47? Or is there another fix for when the sub tps is deleted?
I'll check it all again tomorrow, but it has been consistantly dispalying code 47 so far
9717500 = ecu

none of these show the denso sticker like that, they all have the denso number as part of the toyota label

I'd try measuring the voltage at the ECU / Plug (the plug end should be the same as the ECU end and easier to get to) and seeing if it falls within the range I posted above...Originally Posted by GreyBeard
Also does the code go away if you plug in the TPS?
