You've gotta make sure they have room... I've no idea if they do.

Contact Adam Ronke from Tampered and he should be able to confirm. I *think* his number is 0429 938 945

If there are places, it's a pretty casual day. Turn up, line up, show your motorsport licence and get your number, group and wristband. Then take your car up to scrutineering and you're ready to go.

They don't have sup regs as such... more like a club day.

This is their standard email with all the info you need:

Entry Fee: $150 which includes Timing costs.

Spectators are more than welcome, and there is no cost to come and watch. Also you can go for a ride in the cars but you must sign on with a Passenger indemnity first. Due to the amount of passengers at previous events our insurer has put a small levy on passengers of $10. You can just pay this when you sign the forms at the Scrutineering office.

The day will kick off when scrutineering starts at 7:30am. You will need to do your paper work at the scrutineering office before you have your car checked. Please make sure you have removed all loose items from inside the car.

    YOU WILL NEED:
Long sleeve and long pants of non flammable materials i.e. No Nylon
AASA license which can be bought on the day for $50 (these last for 12 months) or CAMS L2S
    Closed footwear
Helmet that complies to Australian Standards (has ASA or Snell Sticker)
Car needs to be in a good condition, no oil leaks, no loose items in the car and battery secure.
    Good condition tyres
Working seatbelt (give it a pull and make sure it locks)
All people wishing to attend need to make payment to the specified bank account. When you send your email with your details you will be sent an entry form as well as payment details. You will need to email the following details

Well...We had a few members from both teams attend the track day today - Representing Rising Sun - Jez, Ray and Shepo! Representing Classic Celica Team - Oscar, Andrew and Myself. I think I can safely say, fun was had by all! It was a great opportunity for us to get some track time in before the 6hr. Andrew ran a stunning 1min48 in the white beast! Incredible effort! Oscar was fanging around the track doing 1min58s and my best time was a 1min49. I think Jez blew us away with a 1min46 in his sprinter (Not too sure on the others). Unfortunately, Ray blew a head gasket, Andrew has done some serious bottom end damage and Jez may have an issue with his diff gears. So, lots to do before the event. At least we know now, rather than on qualifying Saturday.

Hmmm... That's a concerning number of failures combined with the fact that the club car once again is not ready and has not been tested.

Ray blew a headgasket (it's not really a headgasket since rotaries don't have heads) on the Capella on the Fun Day. Does it have some underlying problem or weakness that causes it to reoccur?

What exactly is the problem with the white 22? and what is the plan with it now?

    Good effort by Oscar.

How many times were put down in favourable conditions. It was wet all day in Melbourne... what was it like at Winton?

well was a great day! (for me at least...)

the R didnt miss a beat all day, im well and truley ready for the 6 hour!

i only managed a 1.45 ( which is slow by my standards) but i wasnt pushing at all. just trying to be consistent in the traffic, which is very difficult!

It was a great day, the J&A No Bull team were there, well except for one member. The Pink VL is all good, no problems, the Black and Yellow Bluebird had some issues with the rear suspension mounts, and if you looked under it you would understand, that is one serious bit of gear, for a start it is running a mild 302 Windor V8, the Blue XF had a mjor engine noise, which is a concern as it was only re-built last week by a very capable man. The XE went fantstically all day, the clutch was slipping, but we knew that before we started, we will replace it this week (as we were intended to do all along). The bloke with the Cobra never has issues with his car, he wasn't there yesterday.

I couldn't believe the amount of wheels that fell off cars yesterday, very poor preparation I must say.

And that bloke that lunched his car and dropped oil everywhere coming into turn one made it very interesting for the GT40 and the BMW that came in after him - LOL, Good viewing I can tell you.

We had our final Team Meeting at Macca's in Benalla after the event, we had out pit crew and timer there, so we are nearly all ready.

We have purchased new Team Shirts this year, you will find them interesting as there have been about 100 ordered, there are 4 Teams of us, working under one umbrella, but acting very much as individual teams, I wouldn't have it any other way, our intention is to flog the other 3 Teams. (the extra shirts are for sponsors etc.)

Well that was a fun and long day!

Very happy with my car (silver sprinter) and was happy with the times it was doing on road tyres. Thanks to Eddie for helping us to get it happening

Re the diff problem, I was bracking very hard into the right hander ending the back straight, and whilst braking over the bumps there, i mismatched the revs into 2nd gear and let out my clutch too quick, small comp lock up was amplified by the bumps and car basically comp locked over all the bumps and since then, the diff whines over 60km/h. I suspect the brutal jerking on the whole driveline has tweaked the settings of pinion to crown wheel and now gears are dragging off edge.

So i need the diff rebuilt/reset. Any ideas on where to go (4000km old toyota 4.3:1 gears with Cusco RS 1.5 way LSD) Standard crush tube (i reckon this is the problem) and new bearings throughout.).

    Hey guys,

Sounds like your all busy testing and repairing.

As there are only 2 weeks left, I would like to call a meeting to discuss strategy (we made a good start at The Belgium Beer Garden in Aug) transport, arrival times and the overall running of the weekend, plus further clarification of the rules in particular penalties - as this topic was discussed at length during the meeting at Bell's Hotel.

As you guys are the busy ones I will leave the location and time open to suggestion......

Try Keysborough diffs. They set up my truetrac and are very helpful and knowledgeable.
This is Andrew who was driving Eddie's white car by the way.
