hi simon
what about blue background /silver writing on oscars
or what about stencil type cut out for the script
then that way the cars painted color, will come through as the lettering
I personally like the second last one i posted. The white lettering with bold outline will stand out on the coloured cars and for the two white cars the text colour should be red to keep with Toyota's traditional colour scheme. I'm undecided on the colours for the silver car but red would probably look better than white. If the sticker doesn't incorporate a solid background colour then it should be easier to apply and bit more forgiving with alignment.
Here's what i was thinking for the different coloured cars.

nostalgia is not what it used to be:
I like them! As long as the red is bright red - "Signal Red" it will look unreal! The black sould be good as matte black too. But otherwise, I reckon we punch them out and put them on.![]()

I really like that font. I think anything you guys have done is great! Don't spend too much longer on the designs, or there will be too much to choose from!

Alright then, if I have to be picky.
- I like the first iterations, with the 'team classic celica' writing following the coke bottle lines.
- i think actually prefer the round numbers, looks a bit more retro. But might be different in the flesh
- the contrasting colours of white number background, and black writing background above looks striking, but the stripe above the sill seems a bit wide for me. I think the factory stripes are a bit narrower.
I wasn't copying anything when i did the stripes. If you could provide a picture of the factory stripe you're talking about then i could have a go at replicating it.
I also like the round number spot but it had to be too small if you have the writing down along the sill. If the spot gets too small then it looks silly. That's why i changed it to the rectangle.

what about something like this... but with the "teq Team classic celica" text straddling the number, and following the creaseline better than my MS paint efforts

Hey, that font looks good!
lol again... I put a genuine Celica script badge in the scanner at home. I then traced the scanned image in illustrator. Took me a while to do it.
