hmmm... possible showers. Hooray for breaking traction all the way down the straight.
Karl: Are you still ok to take some wheels down for me? they're at linden's ready for pickup wednesday night.
Failing that, anyone else got spare room for 2 wheels?
And just so everyone can breathe a little easier -
Replace busted coolant hose.. CHECK
replace sparks.. CHECK
Dodgily wedge coil pack in place due to breaking the bolt.. CHECK
oil change... CHECK
All that's left is to swap the racing pads in, do a brake fluid change, and she's ready to rock
Fixed Bommydoor alternator this morning...another coupla hundred i didn't really have spare![]()
Just some stuffing around getting tyres fitted and the trailer to pick up and i should be ready to go....touch wood.

Justen - probably just the voltage reg on the bosch alternator. They are about $30 and 2 screws to replace.
EDIT - i suck for not reading all of thread. Damn a couple of hundred is a lot!
Draven - yes i can fit them on the way down, but will have to get creative to bring them back up to sydney. I'm collecting 4x MA61 wheels with tyres whilst down there, so space will become a premium.

Anyone going to sydney have room for ~2 rims?

It wasn't charging so got a 2nd opinion from the trusty NRMA. His advice was a new unit so poped down to the local auto elec for an exchange unit...$230. Highest quote was $330 so at least saved myself $100 by ringing around.
So that's water pump, pullet tensioner and alt in the space of a coupla months....hopefully that's the 3 and the end of it for a while
PS didn't hear from Tom again so suspect the stress of it all has sent him on a bender![]()

I will have space on the way down and up.
What size rim should I be looking for to fit track tyres to (one with a few tyre options)? And what tyre would you guys recommend for the occasional track day?

would the tyres be doing road duties as well, or are they for seperate rims? And for which car?
I'll chase up Tom... he is a slack bastard![]()

Helps when you decide to check the engine mounts are not just finger tight,
same with the left front wheel nuts.
Not quite sure how the suspension shop did a proper wheel alignment with the wheel nuts loose![]()
Just got to sort out the clutch takeup & gear selection extreme notchiness.
I'll have some room - I'll be towing so there should be space in the Discovery or the Soarer.Originally Posted by Draven
Still trying to shake the end of a cold that had me knocked out last Friday but getting there. The Soarer hasn't needed to be touched since Phillip island but it does have a big hole in the roof where the 10kg+ sunroof assembly used to be. Lexan will be fitted tonight along with a shiteload of sikaflex looking at the weather!
Praying for a dry day though - my "wets" are a sent of Nankangs...
That must be the first time I've offloaded a car *before* the issues start! Normally I get hit with big repair bills just when I decide to sell.Originally Posted by JustenGT8

Tyres won't be doing road duties as I have to use light truck tyres on the road. Wheels will be fitted to a '94 Hilux 2x4, 300hp, stock suspension.
