10 psi for every 1000 rpm so at 8000 it would be 80lbs
at idle at least 25lbs
I'm posting this on behalf of a friend.
This is the car + engine
Dry sumped Toyota 3S-GE in an F3 car with Tom's oil pumps (probably originally made by Pace).
Would the minimum specs, do you think, have the pressures at 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000 and 7000rpm? Most of the time minimum oil pressure is quoted at hot idle (when you NEED virtually nothing), and have a warning light using a simple '10psi switch' or similar. I want more info than that.
If anyone has some detailed info on this , can you post w/ references.
Thanks in advance

Contact an F3 team that has run the TOM's engines. Don't think anyone here would really know.
Current V8 Supertaxis run 30/35 psi at 7500.
F/Fords run low pressure as well.
Thanks. Thats actually quite low, a wet sumped 3s-ge we found a manual for specced up to 76psi @ 5000rpm... (i think i don't have it on hand but it was quite high)
Thanks anyway![]()
wow, well i run a 3sgte in my gt4, (i think my gauge is pretty cheap+nasty+dodgy) coz when cold at idle - sits around 20psi, when warm at idle, sits on 0psi! when accelerating, can jump up to 40psi. when on highway at 3krpm, can sit at 20psi, and then drop to 0psi, until you squirt it, then it will jump back up for a while?
busted gauge i guess, car runs fine!
