    Default 3SGTE's CT26 housing into 7MGTE's CT26A

    guys,
i'm sick of the turbo lag feels on my 3T-C turbo with a 7M-GTE's CT26A turbo. is it possible to fit 3SGTE's CT26 turbine housing into a 7M-GTE's CT26A? the CT26 from 3SGTE i mean is the twin entry type.

When does your engine come on boost? Mine starts at about 3000rpm and is fully in by 3200rpm on a flat road any way (using the supra CT26). I didn't think it was much different to the ct20 (standard 3tgte turbo), but they are not a particulalry great turbo. Not sure if the housing fit, however do know that you would have to rework your tubo manifold to make use of the split housing and the dump pipe woul require reworking also.

i'm current run external gate for the CT26A. it comes on boost about the same as yours, roughly 3000RPM but it feels like quite lag. does the lag has something to do with the camshaft? i'm using Schneider 284 turbo cam. i sat in a SR20DET everything stock into a KE70. it feels so much responsive and my 3T-C everything custom made to run can't compete with it at all...

why don't you install a T28 on your 3T, that will be a fair comparison.

At the end of the day SR20 and 3T are different kettle of fish!

What were your expectation when you installed a turbo designed for a 3 litre engine on a 1.8lt engine?

My guess would be price of the CT26A( which are fairly expensive these days) and ooo ya a bigger turbo got the knod. don't hold me against it, remember i'm only guessing.

Good job on getting everything custom made but poor design and research has led you to your disappointment.

Qoute from your first post "i'm sick of the turbo lag feels on my 3T-C turbo with a 7M-GTE's CT26A turbo".
Clearly proves that you didn't do your homework.

i'm glad you saw the funny side of it.

T28 is on the later SR20. maybe on the RB20 as well, but i'm pretty sure some one will be able to confirm this.

If spool is a problem get a nice ball bearing core turbo. s15 JDM units are a t28 with a BB core.
