Default battery in boot, engine bay distribution block?

    heya all,

im mounting a big battery in the boot of the rona, and want to run some form of distribution block in the engine bay as i dont want everfythig running of the starter solenoid,

now what have people used/made, and where can you get it?

atm ive got a stereo amp/dist block that im thinking of using....but its not ideal?,

will be running a 2 gauge feed from the battery to the dist block, then 4 or 8 gauge to the alt and starter,

does this seem fine? any dramas?

edit, also, if im going to run a 250amp fuse in the dist block, and a 600cca battery, is that fuse going to blow during cranking?..........as u can tell, wiring is definatelly a strong point of mine

    cheers, Blake

i used a cut out switch as my distribution block.

fuse should only blow if you are cranking it for ages, as for the size of the wiring, it should be fine.

I used a tiny Odyssey battery which still had a huge CCA, but i only ran one amp for the stereo, no head unit, just an ipod.

Whitworths have several distribution blocks (power posts are what you want i think) for this kind of thing.

Hahaha I've been meaning to put up an exact thread about this, I remember seeing someone use distribution posts before. Nice work guys, answered my question in one as well.

EDIT: I'd give you guys some rep but it seems I like you already
