Yep, if choosing to drive, assume:

Car prep - $500 - 1000 (extra fuel, Jerry cans, new battery, toolkit, fluids, spares, ...)
Fuel - $1350 - if you don't know how to work out fuel mileage and economies, budget $2000 (because you are dumb!)
Accom - 5 nights over going via Melbourne and Canberra, 5 night stay in sydney, 4 night return, then mulitply by 2 because driving by yourself is boring - $1400
    Food and Booze - $1500ish
Transport and entry costs - $150ish
Spending money - whatever you have left!

So driving over is a $5000 minimum safe budget, assuming no friendly sleep overs, and only two people.

    Holy fuck,

    thats commitment.

Good work to all you boys that do make the effort, I thought Dubbo was a trek but yeah, truly shows how far some will go for their passion.

    kudos.

That sounds about right Clint. It wasn't cheap that's for sure. It's exactly why it's been postponed till next year so the car can be finished and afford it.

c'mon Nathan.. we all know you've just started the new project decade. 2015 at the earliest

accommodation in sydney can sometimes be arranged for nothing if you know the right people (/suck enough dicks), which can leave you more money for food/booze at lowenbrau (where you get to watch Whatthe? and me get kicked out after having a pepper/salt/food/water fight)

And for the guys asking me about freight, assume:

Freight from Perth to Adelaide, with an airfare into Adelaide - $500ish and 3 days travel saved
Freight from Perth to Melbourne with an airfare into Melbourne - $700ish with 4 days travel saved
Freight from Perth to Sydney with an airfare into Sydney - $1100ish with 6 days travel saved(The 6th night is the first night of Sydney)

Freight From Sydney to Perth with an airfare to Perth - $1550ish
Freight from Melbourne to Perth with an airfare to Perth - $1150ish
Freight from Adelaide to Perth with an airfare to Perth - $750ish

Lets not forget the power of dealer prices and group buys when considering freight, accom, and airfare prices too - think about it, and let me know who is serious?!
