Default how to choose the size of radiator

i am currently using the 3sgte st185 engine. I have done some mild modifications, but still having standard camshaft and coated std piston. But using w58 gearbox.
I want to get the best cooling for my engine.

Is it true the bigger the radiator, the better cooling i'll have for my engine ? Can anybody advice me which size of aluminium radiator should i use ?

Really appreciate if you could advice. Thanks a lot

    what car is it in

usually the most people run what will fit. I.e the biggest they can get between the chassis rails, and thinkness depends on how think fans are and the clearance to the front of the engine.

what do you want to do with the car, track or just street

    Hi mate,

All you really want to do, is go up one more core size and keep your width and length similar this will improve your overall cooling efficiency and significantly keep temps down at idle or slower speeds buy reducing the restriction of the size of the cores it is allowing the water to flow through better and improving the air flow. To many or big cores and radiator will flow worse than original.Unless you notice your car running hotter than normal there will not be any point in doing this at all. make sure your number plate is not blocking flow to radiator and if you have bigger front mount intercooler try to leave room for airflow to get to radiator. Fit electronic temperature gauge and monitor temps. if you are just doing a bit of track and street you prob dont need to concider cooling as it will be around as good as it needs to be. Toyotas cooling is pritty good unlike some other makes.

It's really a very good answer. It really answers my doubt about the radiator. All right then, I'd just have to buy aluminium radiator specially meant for 3sgte. Thanks pal.
    Cheers !
