    Default Xr6t 35/40 + 1jz

Just wondering about other people's experiences are from using an xr6 turbo on a 1jz. its just im looking for a bit of a simple upgrade and want to know what to expect with the 1.06 rear? and the .50 front cover? I'll most likely just be connecting it up to the stock ex mani just to get me by.

What sort of gains and lag will it give?

it will be laggy with the 1.06 housing on it but this can easily be swapped to a .82 suitable for a GT3582r (the turbo's real name)

the wastegate wont hold low boost nicely so you will either need to port it and install a bigger flap or get an external gate on it.

the front cover will be more efficient at high boost levels but at low boost it wont flow as much as a .7 cover.

gains = huge (400hp easy) lag will be big also (3800 or more with the stock mani)

    cheers

hmmm well the whole reason for choosing a xr6t is that it looks fairly easy to get on the stock mani with an adaptor and its internally gated, so bolt on and a re-tune (of course new oil water lines and minimal changes to the exhaust). Also these are ball bearing turbo's? so i can wind it up to 20psi no worries?

I would eventually change the rear and at the same time go custom mani and ext gate, but im not that rich atm so it just seems like and easy cheap path.

    whats wrong with 30

yeah it'll do 20 no probs (if you don't mod the gate you probly wont have an option but to run 15+)

    fairly cheap
