Default TA22 Master cylinder upgrade with Hilux calipers?

    Hi all,
I know there is a heap of info on the front brake upgrade for the TA22 using the LN106 hilux calipers etc.

What I want to know is which is the best suited master cylinder for this upgrade? Eg In terms of how it looks as well as its performance.
So far tossing up between the camry and pajero master cylinders. Anyone have opinions on brake feel etc between these or if you feel something else is better?

    Cheers,
    Simon

Camry MC is a cheap and easy swap. Same bolt pattern, lines require a little bit of manipulation/guidance to fit. Flows a heap more fluid each push which gives a solid pedal feel and great stopping powah. Good looking MC as well for a nice early Celica

Thanks guys, do you know the part number of the camry M/C. Also does this M/C have a low level switch?

    Cheers,
    Simon

Anyone know if hilux master would fit? Called local places and can only find a new Camry MC for around $450...not forking out that much.

Turns out a JZA80 Supra (maybe 99-00) master cylinder fits, pretty sure the car I got it out of was a turbo model. It's an Aisin part just like the original.

The front of the reservoir comes very close to the strut tower but shouldn't rub too much, if at all. The reservoir is also slanted so there is a lot of fluid at the front and just above the min line at the rear. Not sure if this will be a problem but should be ok.

Picked mine up for the grand total of $35.

The hilux LN106 original master cylinder had a 15/16" bore and given that the ta22's have such a small brake booster to assist, I think the 1" Camry would probably be a bit big, from what Ive read they make for a very hard pedal.
When I go through with this upgrade Ill be using a master cylinder with a 15/16" bore which Im pretty sure the pajero is the right size.

Just my two bobs worth, goodluck with whichever way you decide to go :-)

    Cheers Josh

I did this upgrade a while back and used the Pajero master cylinder, direct fit and works great with good pedal feel....
