    Default What box for 7M or 5M

    G'day,
    just wondering if anyone knows whether a box out of a older 4 runner will bolt up to a 7MGE or a 5M or anyother M variatn for that matter. i think the gearbox may be R151. so would a bellhousing from an MA70 work?
    Cheers

    If the 4runner has an R151 gearbox then to my knowledge a 7M-GTE -> R154 bellhousing will NOT just fit and work. (R151 has a longer inputshaft).

    If the 4runner has a G5X gearbox then a 5M-E, 7M-GE -> W58 bellhousing should work to my knowledge.

    Cheers

    Hmm, wait a sec on that actually!!!!

    Have a search for "Skip" in the old Toymods, I recall something about the 4wd R series gearbox having a longer input shaft as opposed to R154's...!!!!!!

I then got a billet steel flywheel made up and a full face organic clutch which quickly died, I now have a 9 puck ceramic clutch with upgraded clamp force.

    Could you use a 7M/R154 housing and a 30mm spacer?
