    Default quiet twin thermos

anyone know of any good 10inch thermos (oe or aftermarket) that are relatively quiet but still move some air,I have heard that the curved blade jobbies are the best, got a big 16inch ebay fan that i can't fit in this application but gees its loud,it has straight blades.

I've used spal curve blade fans on two occasions now and found them quiet enough for my liking. I'm running two 9's at the moment and can't really hear them over the sound of my exhaust, although my exhaust is 3"

Anyway they can be had for around the $130 mark from rocket industries. Also very slimline fans for fitting in tight spaces.

Just looked up the 16's and they aren't as slim as the others. They measure in at like 88mm for the curved blade ones at the centre.

The 9 - 13" ones though are like 50mm or around that and I think you can get a straight blade 16" with roughly that spec at the centre.

www.spalusa.com has all the specs on them though

I use WRX thermo fans on many toyota and nissan conversions. they seem to fit just about anything. They are metal shrouded so I just weld them together and then weld brackets to them to mount them to the radiator. It is fairly simple to mount them to a radiator that used to have a clutch fan shroud. I sell them for $50 each. They are dual brush, quiet and pull way more air than any aftermarket fan could dream of. They are just as compact as most aftermarket rubbish too.

Here they are mounted on an S14 radiator in my 2JZ crown. This is fairly typical of the mounting style.

There are also some 60/40 fans used on Legacy turbos if the 50/50 WRX sizing doesn't suit. On an A80 or Z30 radiator you would use a 60/60 pair as the radiator is very wide.
