Where is the source for that table?
This is the results table of a recent (last year) test of various tyres in the 175/65R14 size.
I used this recently to justify the purchase of the BFGoodrich Sport T/A and boy were the tests right. Talk about confidence going around corners.

Hope its off use to some of you during your next purchase. I like to think the public selecting their tyres based on data helps the manufacturers take notice and in turn develop a more competitive product.

Personally, I chucked away the 14's, grabbed some cheap 15x7's and wrapped them in Goodyear Eagle F1 195/50's. There is simply no way ANYTHING in 175/65 14 will ever match them on the road.

It is safe to assume the test is a direct representation of the tyre compound, construction and tread design... meaning the results apply to all sizes.
Of course Goodyear F1's are an extremely good tyre but a few have knocked it off its perch in the last 12-18months over at tireracks tests.

Not always, the compound is usually tweaked over different sizes, and indeed some tyres perform woefully at smaller sizes yet markedly better in larger. It's only a great comparison if you're looking in a similar size.Originally Posted by abently

i think this would be much better if it also had a comparison of the more expensive tyres to give you an idea of what you are comparing to....
eg. comparing a jza70 to an ma70 is all well and good but when you compare them to a TT jza80 its a totally different story.
so although 1 may be more expensive than the others the extra couple of $$ might be worth it..
just a thought

I have a set of bf goodrich on my GA28. For the money I can't see how anyone could complain.
Hello.
I have no qualms acknowledging sources that are not contravening any copyright or IP rights and I'ld rather not find out by testing the waters so to speak.Originally Posted by oldcorollas

Tests involving the high end spec tyres can be found at tirerack as the premium model tyres are generally sold worldwide and therefore international tests remain valid here.
Would be good to get a test of various racing compound street approved tyres as that's the only thing lacking.

perhaps you miss the point of "referencing"......??
copying with no reference is what will get you into trouble.
copying and referencin gon a public forum is usually OK.
making it public and chaging for someone elses work with no referencing will get you into trouble.

So your saying a subscription to choice online, allows you to copy all the reports and then host them on another website with a link to the original source and that choice magazine would be happy as larry, once google managed to push it onto the first page search, hey ? lol
Lets just agree to disagree. If I really wanted to throw everyone off the original source I would have spent the extra 2 mins just typing the results rather than print screening it.

thansk for that info it was good shit.
a comparison between these 'budget' tyres and the high end tyres would certainly be very interesting but dont think would affect anyones choice because we are looking at this table for a bargain anyway.
