Default 4AGTE Blacktop engine build up

Hi Peoples, I am starting to piece together the engine for my AE82 project and I am piecing together what I need. I have a 4AGZE bottom end which I will fill with Pauter rods, balanced crank and new Toyota 4AGZE pistons, I also have purchased a 20Valve blacktop head to run.

With the assembly of this engine I assume I will need a 20v headgasket but a few questions remain.......

Which water pump, oil pump do I use or can I use?
Which timing belt do I use?
If I only purchased the head with it be difficult to get my ancillaries to operate such as pulleys etc??

Any help would be great with engine building experience

use the 20V waterpump with the metal gasket that has the flap that directs water into the block correctly.

Use the blacktop timing belt, gates have a listing for the belt now or even an off the shelf gates belt for a BMW works.

I'd use the 16V or an AE101 20V oil pump housing personally so you don't have to use the AE111 hydraulic timing belt tensioner ram.

Any reason why you're going with the 4agze pistons and not a proper set of forged 20V pistons which will give you the correct squish areas for the head?

Agreed, a set of NEW 4agze pistons surely will cost a few coins... A set of forgies can be had for under 500$ or 800$ for decent ones i would have thought...???

Id be worried with the scolloped 16v pistons punching somethin in the lovely 20v head. I could be wrong, but i dont think so. Get forged 20v pistons 100%.
Electric oil and water pumps? a light flywheel and it'll never stop revving.
    lol.

fuck it, im doin it. MY IDEA!

Hmmm well the genuine Toyota forgies are very cheap around $99 a piston + rings and from what I have heard they are very strong but if I need to get a whole hepa of non standard parts maybe its just easier to stick with the 16v head

16V pistons work fine with the BT head and a turbo.

    How big is your budget?
The above opinion is just that - my opinion. It is not shared by any business that I am currently or have previously been involved with, nor any of their employee's.
