Has anyone put a 3VZ/ 3VZ-FE into a rwd configuration before?
The 7M i wanna put into my wagon project is a bit iffy as my mate doesnt know if hes gonna do his 1JZ-GTE swap.
Any suggestions for a toyo 6 that is readily available (so cheap and parts plentiful), and not commonly used in a conversion.

R.I.P.
One of the VZ motors was available in RWD in the Prado.
3.4L or something.
5VZ-FE?
Yep, 5VZFE. And in the Hilux too.Originally Posted by wagonist

Only thing it really needs to share is mating up with the gearbox.
I was more implying that you probably can't use much RWD 3VZE stuff (like intake, mounts, exhaust manifold, radiator pipes etc) to convert a FWD-only 3VZFE to RWD. There's much more than just bellhousing-sharingOriginally Posted by greywolf

Too true, never been involved in a front to rear wheel drive engine conversion before, pardon my ignorance.
EDIT : It has to be said though, fabbing those components are a hell of a lot easier than trying to find a gearbox that will a) mate up and b) fit in the space allocated.
Giantomato made and adaptor plate to go with the R bellhousing.
Look it up.

Will a 3VZ-E Bolt to the same bolt pattern Adaptor/Bellhousing as a 3VZ-FE?
Prolly a bit of a N00b question.
