spacers are mega not legal :-P
This bloke i know is selling some 17'' BBS from a reasonable price. I had em over at my house & they fit on the back perfectly, except the front was an issue. it wont fully fit over the bearing housing, & the top of it hits the shocks / springs.
What are my options?
Mate suggested getting a spacer & some longer studs - will this work?
any info would be appreicated. Cheers

ta22 Green with cream vinyl roof, 2t/3t hybrid with a few go fast bits on + 5 speed.
Thats not an issue as the wheels arent really roadworthy either. just want to know if it would work
sounds like the wheels don't fit.
also sounds like your definition of "work" might be different to safe....![]()

ummm....
Spacer's, illegal? yes.
Dangerous? not necessarily.
If you run spacers on the front, you will probably find that it will fix both the clearance issues. A lot of nissan rims are a few mm's shy around the bearing housing.
Many ppl will argue that you need the rims to be hubcentric otherwise they'll never stay balance, but meh, there are plenty of worse things you could do.
The front studs on a '28 a quite short when you run nissan rims, especially when you use spacers. So definately make sure you're getting enough bit on the thread.
Cheers cheers for the infos.
Just weighing up wether its worth buying em - having trouble finding wheels that i like / & that fit.
do you know the backspace required for a given rim width to fit?
look up if the wheels you like have ever been made in that size, or if it is really uncommon... as a starting point..
