Been talking to a work colleague who lives out Heddon Greta way, his opinion is that going the New England through East Maitland, Maitland, Greta et al is going to be akin to racing a turtle with a snail, and suggests bypassing it all and go through Kurri, Neck-nock and come out along Wine Country Dr into Branxton, or even go out further via Broke to meet up with the Golden Highway at the end of Mitchell Line Rd at Mt Thorley.

If traffic is going to be heavy (and being Good Friday morning, it most likely will be), it'll be worth considering

What we generally find is that its a little heavy around Hexham overpass but its all going North, wait til you see the line of cars trying to get over Hexham bridge from Sydney end!!

Then the traffic kinda peters out and flows pretty well all through Maitland, Rutherford, Branxton then there's just us(or so it seems) on the Golden Hwy.

So far its been pretty good, but you're welcome to go that way if its easier, as I'm not sure where you live, we can meet you other side of Branxton or similar, just let me know either way.

    Cheers Danae

Most of the traffic will be heading north, yes, but still plenty heading west too. At least the John Renshaw and Weakleys Dr overpasses means that northbound traffic no longer impacts on westbound traffic.

If everyone's going to go NEH then might as well tag along, no point going a possibly faster way only to wait at the end (or if for some reason it turns out to be slower, then to have to catch up)

Mightn't make it to the early start, got a lot of packing and shopping to do tonight, plus it's my g/f's birthday tomorrow so we're having bbq etc tonight, might put off some packing until the morning then. Should be well and truly ready by 11 if you want some company on the drive

He can't help that his car has two diffs
There you go Troy I fixed them for you.

And for the record i have made it to Dubbo in daylight, last year, but not in the celica.
And for the record i am actually thinking of driving it out instead of towing it

8.30am start out. Even if the car is together I don't think there is much chance of me leaving at that time of the morning.

Oh, and I hope the glass house has frosted glass Troy
Just for the record before Troy gets in first the RA40 didn't go to Dubbo
But i did, had a great long week end, rooms booked again for next year and the car will be going no question.
