bump...
no-one has one they could measure?
Does anyone have an S series diff centre out of car they can quickly measure??
and if possible, to check the size/splines of S series axles?
i'm looking for the following measurements
to compare with these ones (an LSD i have, a 6" and an early T series)
1- 35mm (6" is 34)(前期T=34or35??)
2- 134mm (6" is 132)(前期T=144)
3- 96mm (6" is 95)(前期T=99 or 105??)
4- 128mm (6" is 116)
every single AE86 in australia came with an S series diff, so there must be some around![]()

If I've got time I can do it in the morning. Got one sitting on the garage floor.

awesome thanks
just those main dimensions should be enough to identify the LSD i have sitting here![]()

Can measure axle diameter at the splines but i'm 99% sure (I compared some about 12 months ago) that they are the same as the smaller T series axles so it won't help you confirm the identity of yours. I sold the centre.
I'll measure anyway and post.
Drip feed of information. I didn't want to wake the neighbours up hammering the locking tabs down early this morning, so 1 & 4 are:
1 - 35mm
2 - 134mm
3 - ~96mm (I was defeated by a couple of locking tabs, till I find a sharper punch)
4 - 127mm
I'll get you the other two tonight when I take the gear off it.

I'm 100% that S and small T series axle splines are the same
Above post edited for extra measurements.
I have both sets of axles at home too. I'll get the verniers & camera on those. From memory they look pretty damn similar.

yah the axles are 24mm and i think (as Hen said) same between S and early T.
are you 100% on the 35mm for the bearing mount bit? i will remeasure mine tonight
thanks muchly!
i wonder why people say there are no series LSD's?![]()

Mainly because of all the idiots (at least here in NZ) who try to sell the standard 4 pinion centre as an LSD because they don't know what an LSD centre looks like.![]()
Callum
ahh, i see. happens here occasionally too, but they usually put a few ??? after LSD
i have a part number from TRD catalogue, but the part number on box has been washd off by oil over the years![]()

Remeasured this morning and my dodgy verniers measure 35mm. They're not exactly a precision tool, cost me $2, but the measurement is consistent = good operator![]()

fantastic! thanks Chrisso!!
my dodgy $5 veriners (and more importantly, dodgy eyes in poorly lit room) measured wrong.
the LM48510-N bearing is suppsed to have an inner diameter of 34.925mm
WOOHOOO!, i will add extra rep when i can![]()
