    Engine is in!

Interior is on its way out!

May have to look into the solid mounts / prius air con gear, but for now just going to get everything running off the motor, keep it simple & get it running fast!

Got a 240v ceramic heater element to install where the old heat exchanger is.

Will have it hooked up to the fan control & thermal protection to avoid meltdowns

had you thought about using an automatic gearbox? or would that lead to less distance/endurance (motor always running to keep hydraulic pressure up to gearbox)?

Looking the goods, if you're running the AC comp off the motor are you going to have an RPM switch for the clutch or just run the motor on idle?

Currently planning to idle the motor so the power steering / ac work.
Will put in a switch to override if need be (for easy hill starts, long waits @ lights etc...)

Will eventually like to have another accessory motor, or individual powered units.

Picking up metal for the battery box this arvo, should have it bent up and ready to test fit this weekend.

Yep, but need additional electronics and mods to speed controller.
Not planning to implement just yet, maybe further down the track.

Just a thought , if the electric motor will see high rpm like the petrol engine id put the ring gear back on . A cast flywheel will explode without the ring gear on .
Id say up to 4000 rpm would be safe without the ring gear tho .

you mean the ringgear prevents the cast flywheel from cracking in the first place? or by containing the pieces after it cracks?

surely the ring gear will stretch enough to not prevent crack formation?

    Interesting,

I have seen many ppl remove the ring gear for other leccy cars.
I doubt there will be many full revs + clutch dumps going on, so I cant see it getting hurt too much.
