i just swapped my sc300 and having problems at it cutting out.
I am using an 1jz 5 speed harness with an Auto ECU. would this make my car have problems? cause i cant rev above 3k..
do i need to wire the NSS switch in somewhere in the ecu?
because i bypassed the starter to a push button, but wouldnt the auto ecu not know that therefore causing it to mess up. since logically it shouldn't be running cause i just bypassed it...
thanks

is there a way i can just ground it? or anything?
Try grounding it,
This will tell the engine ECU that the car is in Neutral or Park

thanks for the help and diagram.Originally Posted by wilbo666
one last thing does anyone know anything about an 1jz cutting out at 3k?
i have checked
-TPS
-CPS
-Coils
-Plugs (Gaped to .28)
-Timing (dead on)
-no codes
the swap is a sc300 with a JZA70 motor, i am going to try the NWS and STA wire fix tomorrow anything else to try?
ps.. I like this forum lots of info and help thanks![]()
i had grounded the NWS Pin.
same stuff happing..
grounded both the NWS and STA pin no luck
I grounded the NWS pin and put a 12v to the STA pin the car ran like crap.
any ideas?
Firstly its NSW not NWS
Secondly, the STA pin is meant to get +12V when you have the key in the crank position only.
Not all the time.
It is simply there to tell the ECU that you are trying to start the engine, so it can inject a bit more fuel etc
Perhaps it is the ECU (shagged capacitors)... can you try your ECU in someone else's car?
Also:
All the rest of the wiring is good?
All injectors have power, igniter, etc
The ECU has power on +B, +B1 (Via M-REL relay)?
The ECU has constant power on BATT?
All the ECU/block/etc grounds are connected?

can i get the effects of if these wires you mentioned if they werent connected? or wired wrong.? like what does each do?
the ECU the caps were just replaced
grounds good. i am going crazy.
turning my key turns my ecu. i have my fuel pump bypassed and on a switch, is that bad?
How can you say the wring is good when you don't know what STA and NSW are for?
Also...
That isn't correct either.Originally Posted by r1ce
Yes, that is bad.Originally Posted by r1ce
And as I've already said:
NSW: When you ground this pin, you tell the ECU that the car is in Neutral or Park (Auto trans)
When you apply +12V to the NSW pin, or leave it disconnected it does nothing (There is a diode to stop current flow in that direction)
STA: +12V on this pin tells the ECU you are cranking the car (So it knows you are trying to start the car).
When you ground, or leave this pin connected it does nothing.
