Default AE101 GTZ Def Oili Temp sensor installation.

    Hi guys,

I recently purchased some TRD Defi style gauges with an oil temp sensor missing. I've just purchased a brand new Defi sensor and now I'd like to fit it onto the car.

Here is where I think I'm going to run into a problem, how do I get an oil temperature reading? I know there is a GReedy adapter that you can get but it doesn't look like it's going to fit. The power steering pump looks as if it is going to get in the way once the filter is placed onto the adapter.

Is there a smaller filter I can get whilst retaining the standard oil pressure? I friend of mine wrecked his bottom end from using the incorrect oil filter.

Has anyone ever done this and what way would you recommend doing it? Can I grind off a part of the power steering pump?

    Any help appreciated in this,

    Cheers,

    Ciarán

Other than using an oil filter relocation kit (with or without an oil cooler), another way would be to use the stock oil pressure switch location.
    - If you replace it then you will loose the light on the dash (I'm not sure if it will stay on or off when the stock sender is gone but if you can live without it and it stays on, then you can just remove the bulb from the dash).
    - If you want to keep it, then you will need a T-piece BUT do not install this straight into the block as it will crack. The best way to do this is to mount it somewhere and run a braided line to it

I put an adaptor in the other day in my ae101 Levin for a Defi gauge. It is a tight fit...I am running a turbo so even less space than you would have with a supercharger!

how do I get an oil temperature reading?
so Greddy Oil Block adapter won't fit then
Drill the sump and put the sensor (then u'll get really accurate reading)

    Oil pressure
    as He said big_zop
