Oh and a few driving tips for you Perth girls for when you enter Adelaide.
This can be a somewhat sleepy town, don't expect cars to respond to a traffic light turning green for at least 3 seconds, and when they do, be prepared for them to drive at the exact speed as the car in the next lane. The goal of driving here seems to be to spread out & impede the progress of anyone wishing to reach their destination in under 2 hours.

Also, any cars pulling out from a side street, WILL pull out into the furthest lane they can, so if they're turning left they'll end up in the most right line, and vice versa. I'm beginning to think it's part of the road rules over here...

And lastly, U turns seem to be a shared hobby of Adelaidians, they will perform them ANYWHERE, ANYTIME. It's almost as though it's a competition to see who can do a U turn in the dumbest spot while creating the longest line of traffic behind them. It doesn't seem to anger anyone, it's more as though it just sets a challenge for everyone else to try & better.

    You have been warned!
(Not that it's anything to get too worried about, just wait until we get to Sydney. Your average Adelaide driver would last about 20 seconds there I reckon.)

oh yes, I can't wait for the perthians/adelaidians to try and survive sydney traffic.
Equal parts incompetant slow drivers and incomeptant stupid-fast drivers, a healthy smattering of moderately competant slow/speed limit drivers... and there are even a few people who actually know how to drive!

Oh, and another thing about Adelaide, just because the sign says 60, doesn't mean we're going to go 60 alright. 45-55km/h will do just fine thankyou very much!

The best bit about Sydney drivers though is their heightened level of aggression, if someone cuts you off or pulls out in front of you or whatever, expect them to give you the finger!
If you wait more than 3 milliseconds at a green light you will be horned by everyone behind you.
And my favourite bit, if you somehow happen to find yourself not in bumper to bumper traffic, drive as fast as you can with no regard for pedestrians, speed limits, other cars, even on double demerit points weekends, until you can find yourself some more cozy traffic to get stuck in.

Sydney is where I learnt to drive, & I'm a little afraid to go back there.

and don't forget... the bigger cars on the road have right of way - they will enforce this rule!
Unless it's a taxi, but from my experiences in all other major cities in australia, the rules for taxis seem to be the same (ie: none of them apply)

My rules for taxis: fuck them over any way you can!
4 years of driving to work at Sydney Airport meant I was battling with taxis the whole way there & home (anywhere up to 1.5 hours one way, PB of 21mins ).
I could fuck over one million taxis one million times & still not exact suitable revenge on those bastards!!!

Hmm, have you seen the train air horns you can buy that require a compressor and/or a compressed air reservoir? That's the kind of "GET THE FUCK OUTA MY WAY" shit you're gonna need in Sydney!

    Link here.
Check out some of the vids, funny funny shit. I want one!
