    Default Installing thermo fans

Hey auto elecys/clever toymodders, I need your help!

I am in the process of developing some alloy radiators for Jeeps. Their current set up with fans is to have:
    1X clutch fan
1X thermo fan that cuts in at 105 degrees

Now what I want to do is actually supply the rad with a shroud and 2 aftermarket thermo's

What im trying to work out is how I can safely over ride the factory temp sender etc.As i really dont want to wait untill 105 degrees for the fans to cut in. I can definately hook it all up to the davies craig controller and bypass the computer but this may bring up fault codes? Is there as safe way to do this, as I have been informed if I start telling the computer to cut the fans in earlier it may change the fuel mixture also.

I really just want to get the fans to cut in at say 5 deg after the thermostat cuts in.

Ive never had this problem before as most cars have a more sensible setting for the fan to cut in

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Nath

I'm not 100% sure I understand the question totally, but two solutions spring to mind:

    - Throw a resistor in series/parallel with the temp sensor for the fan to fool the ECU into turning it on at (lets say) 90 rather than 105. May cause issues if other things depend on this temp signal too.

    - Remove control of the fan from the ECU. Run a setup like what rob linked to to control the fan. Then keep whatever you need to connected to the ECU (relay, other load, whatever) so make it think that it's still controlling the fan and not throw codes.
