4AGE KW Question

Every where i look on the net i see 103KW 4AGE's but all of the local ones in AE92's seem to be 100kw.

Were they detuned for australia or do we just call them 100's .

People often round it down to 100 to make it easier to remember.

In Japan the smallport was rated at 140ps, in Australia it was 100kw

Not engines just internet info..

There has been a war raging in junior sedan circles in nsw about seca's with small port 4AGE's.
The rules clearly state that 100KW is maximum. they are dominating the class in questionable cars.Should be running big port engines under these rules.

Australian ones were stated to be 100kw, so that would be acceptable. Jap spec tended to be slightly different anyway, look at the difference between JDM AE86 bigports and ADM AE82 bigports, both running MAP but 10kw difference, all in the ECU.

If they were called it in official literature (and it appears they were) then there's no real way to prove otherwise.

Even if they were 103kw, it wouldn't be like the "206kw" Supras that came out in the 90s (JZA80s) which blatantly had way more than 206kw, same with Skylines (some special spec ones like the Nur were seeing over 206kw at all four wheels on a dyno bone stock, yet were still quoted as "206kw")
