Can anyone tell me what engines were in the first Supra's like were they a straight 6 cylinder with a single overhead cam or maybe a straight 6 cylinder with a dual overhead cam.

The MK1 Supra's used the early M series engines, these were Straight 6 and had a Single Overhead Cam.
M-EU - This was a 2.0L Straight 6 engine, Overhead Cam.
M-TEU - This was a 2.0L Straight 6 engine, Overhead Cam, Turbocharged.
4M-E - This was a 2.6L Straight 6 engine, Overhead Cam.
5M-E - This was a 2.8L Straight 6 engine, Overhead Cam.
assuming MA61s were the first supras, then the 5m-e was the first engine to come in supras, i thought the M-TEU came in early soarers only
Depends which Supra, Are we talking about the Celica Supra MK1?
