KKR380 not the garrett equivalent of GT30?...or am i getting mixed up here with the 480?
EDIT: yep, my mistake...does that make the KKR330 on level with the GT28RS?...or more like a T25?
Why would you think that? They're supposed to be fairly similar to a KKR330 which is very responsive even on a 1.8l engine.Originally Posted by LT1986

I dont have a gt28 as an option because of the price-its just way out of my price range.
also because there is so little info on 1g single turbos i had a look at what people were doing on rb20's and the t3/t4 came up as a popular turbo. I thought that the td05 would be a good choice because it (apparently) spools quickly and can make quite a bit of power at high boost.

KKR330 sits roughly just below a GT28RS and the KKR380 is hitting around the GT2871R mark.

TD05 makes a good budget choice. T3/T4 is much older and laggier design, popular mainly because they are dirt cheap
With lag being important I wouldn't go bigger than necessary for the power goal. Lots of choices in the TD05/TD06 range.
